Abaddon's Gate (The Expanse, #3)

Ah so this is going to be *that kind* of series. The Big Reveal about the protomolecule and the gate at the middle of the book is welcome. Because now we know what kind of story they are telling. But it also felt a little, well, out of context. The whole book did to me actually. It's mostly new characters. It's a much more linear and direct story than previous books, particularly the last third of fighting on the Behemoth.

OTOH it was also hugely entertaining and well written and I can't wait to read the next one.
