Meh. It was enjoyable enough but nothing shone through for me. Not enough world building to be interesting sci-fi, not enough action for an action novel, not enough believable characters for a character study. I particularly found the hostage / kidnapper bonding to be obnoxious, even if the kidnapper had a heart of gold. Also there's stylistic inconsistencies in the writing that were distracting. It was a fun enough read, just pretty sure I'll forget all about it in a few weeks.
