Axiomatic

Enjoyable read, I'd say about 1/3 of the stories were actually pretty good. Strange to read Egan's high concept SF reduced to short stories. It doesn't work as well as I'd think, too often they come across as gimmicks. The stories that work best are the ones that build emotional connection, particularly the two concerning the Ndoli device (a jewel that replaces the brain as the home of consciousness).
