Caliban's War (Expanse, #2)

This was great! A real page turner. I'm enjoying this book a lot more than the first one because of having seen the TV show. That brought the characters to life enough for me that I can now follow them much more clearly when reading. Which may be a criticism of the novel, or my own reading comprehension, but whatever the case it's a lot of fun reading the further adventures of those TV characters I liked so much. I also like the new characters introduced, Bobbie and Prax.

Mostly it's just a good rollickin' space opera adventure. The Alien Menace is a bit too featureless for me, it's more of a force of nature than a rational adversary. And the narrative felt a bit more claustrophobic with all the characters concentrated in one place. Still good reading and I'm eager for more.
