Life in a Medieval Village

Solid and detailed book. It's remarkable how much we know about life in ~1250 England and how foreign so much of it seems. The writing is a bit dry, and the illustrations in the illustrated edition I read were not terribly good. But it's a solid and readable history / anthropology.
