Pandora's Star (Commonwealth Saga, #1)

Very smart sci-fi with lots of high concept stuff. Particularly the device of an interstellar society connected with wormholes. The soap opera parts got a little too much at times and the writing was quite uneven. But overall a very fun read with some interesting ideas explored.
