The Bear and the Nightingale (The Winternight Trilogy, #1)

I enjoyed this pretty well. Particularly for the tone, the claustrophobic world of the Russian village, the slow wonder of the girl learning who she is. Also really liked Morozko as an antagonist / force in the novel beyond classifying. It's a lovely and sensitive book and of course Russian folk tales are a rich source to draw from. OTOH it was also a little dull and took some time to get going. I'm not in a hurry to read the sequel.
